Suburban residence

Decorating a house from scratch! What an amazing experience… I guess it’s a little bit like an artist facing a blank canvas, with that feeling of excitement and anticipation, but also intimidation. Where do I start, how do I choose the right materials, will these colours clash, how do I dare to mix and match styles, is this combination too brave? As my mother said about my new carpet: ‘Lizard green, really, darling?’ (She loves how the dining area carpet shows off the chairs now. ;))

Some may say that there are certain rules that exist in the world of design and décor, and rightfully so.  However there is also our own personal taste and choice, a little je ne sais quoi that makes one feel good in ones house, what makes it home.
